Is anyone else as ready as I am for autumn? I’ll have a list up of great things that you can do this season, but until then I am doing an equally exciting post. Autumn trends and outfits look-book! Yes, I know it’s a little early but I have perused the shops. They already have their new stock released and packed up all summer garments. This, alongside seeing a lot of YouTube haul videos and Pinterest inspo has made me keen to share some ideas.

Trend 1: Animal Print

I’ll be honest, up until recently I have not been particularly keen on animal prints. Cheetah, zebra and tiger prints have made me think of Pat Butcher-esque vibes. That was until I saw the way they had been styled now. Then, I was inspired!

1. Catwalk

Animal overload has never looked so chic! The complementary colours mix up the outfit and prevent it from being a “matchy-matchy” outfit. The black accents in the skirt paired with long black gloves scream co-ordinated (not to mention practical!)

2. Recreating the look:

This image (from Pinterest) has offered me the same style vibes as the above picture. Head-to-toe in a cheetah print maxi dress some how gives of a Parisian street style. Note: the minimal accessories make the look. A black belt mirrors the use of detailing above but also breaks up the silhouette. Neutral flat shoes are also used to create a practical, balanced outfit. Winner!

Alternatives:

Another animal hitting the trends is snake print.

The person above has broken the look under nicely. The crisp white shirt teamed with a snake print skirt is both smart and très fashionable. A pop of colour adds vibrancy with the use of red embellished bracelets.

Trend 2: Smart checks

1. Catwalk

Look 1 above

How amazing does this look? The co-ordinated colours pull this look to the next level. The checkered top-brown toned- and jacket both compliment each other well. The hat simply elevated the outfit to catwalk supreme. The keen fashion fanatic will notice that the gold accessories complete the look.

2. Inspiration

This whole look is so 90’s! Just look at Cher from Clueless and Rachel from Friends. Plaid is the way forward! The two outfits are totally ready to wear in real life. Wether it’s a skirt, a pinafore or jacket it’s incredibly versatile and easy to incorporate. The two leading ladies have both donned a white top, saving us from pattern overload! They’ve also both gone for the high length socks, cozy for the fall!

3. Recreating the look

This coat incorporates plaid in a smart sophisticated manner. However paired with a sweatshirt and trainers created a relaxed causal cozy vibe. Statement earrings and a mini purse create a high fashion well put together look.

All trends together?

It may sound like too much, or a fashion faux pas but it actually works.

A long coat paired with a plaid skirt gives a variety of silhouettes and maximises the layered look. Belts, black boots and a black bag break up the look.

What do you think of these trends? Do you have a favourite look or piece?
